OUR RENOVATION CAMPAIGN DONATE OR INVEST
Olan Trust is developing the stunning Crofton Park Library building as our headquarters, alongside the remaining public library and community facilities. We've spent a year restoring the structure of the building, with our own volunteers, and we've acquired many skills along the way.
We need your help funding the final push. Works in progress include completely rewiring the electrical system, the plumbing, a heating system, removal of asbestos, roofing repairs, plastering, restoring the interior, furnishing, and creating gardens and roof gardens.

WHAT YOU GET
Invest £500+ for a 4.5% return over 24 months+
If you have some savings you need to invest safely, and receive a good rate for your investment, you may wish to purchase a Community Bond. These are bonds issued by the Trust, backed-up with a guarantee, paid back to you with interest of 4.5% (calculated semi-annually), and withdrawable anytime after 2 years. Bonds are £500 each. Your finances will be securely backed against the Trust's existing assets, including property and leases.
How will Bonds be repaid?
The Trust will gaining an additional income stream from late October 2017, from renting 'hotdesk' space to local business users, to make efficient use of the new headquarters.
PAST
This beautiful late Victorian building was commissioned by Andrew Carnegie, a Scottish industrialist born in Glasgow in poverty who went on to become an industrialist in the USA, he also became a philanthropist and built community buildings for poor communities around the world. You can help Olan Trust prevent its decline, restore this neglected building, and make it a jewel for Southeast London, and a thriving hub for Olan Trust members. The finished building will be a fusion of traditional and elegant modern design.

FUTURE
In addition to the existing library, bookshop and community café on the ground floor, our work will use the first floor to create a relaxing and vibrant centre. It will provide a public garden area outdoors, a community cinema venue in the library, and a workhub & meeting room service for activists, groups and local freelance workers and students; and the headquarters, meeting, and training centre for Olan Trust staff, members, and volunteers (including and a place for tenants from Olan Homes co-operatives to meet and co-ordinate). Our longer term aim is to raise enough to install lifts for better accessibility to all levels of the building.
